There's no shortage of offense in the 2021 World Series

There is nothing better than baseball in late October, it just feels different. The Astros and Braves have each taken a game of the fall classic for themselves, and if the first two games are any indication, we could be in store for a wild World Series.

I have been able to put away my anti-Astros bias (as much as any one person can) in order to recognize that they are one hell of a ball club, which is what hurts the most. As a team the Astros are arguably the best offensive unit in the MLB. They lead the league in runs scored, batting average and on base percentage. They also had the second lowest strikeout per game percentage, they don’t go down without a fight.

The Braves are closer to league average at the plate but hit the third most homers in the bigs this year. I was shocked when the Braves were buyers at the trade deadline but it payed off. No one player can recreate the impact of Ronald Acuña Jr., so the Braves traded for four outfielders. Each of which has contributed in their own way to try to make up for the loss of the superstar.

The second basemen in this series are two of the best in baseball. Ozzie Albies has three infield hits already this World Series, and hasn’t shown the power he had during the regular season at all in October (zero home runs). Jose Altuve made his mark on this series with a 7th inning homer in game two, but was 0-5 with a hat trick in game one.

So far this World Series has been exciting and has proven that both offenses can hold their own in a shootout. I don’t think the rest of the series will be as one sided as the first two games, and I expect to see a lot of runs scored before the series ends due to the lack of firepower in both pitching staffs.

My prediction and hope: Braves in 6, but I want to point out I didn’t refer to Houston as the Trashtros one time.
