The Media Can't Get Enough Of This Mahomes Injury

Who you got KC: Mahomes or Henne? The Bills and Josh Allen are waiting.

The two best teams in the AFC are facing off in the bland Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City this Sunday and the winner will be playing against Father Time in the Superbowl in Tampa.

No really, the combined age of the NFC championship quarterbacks is over 80 years old thanks to Tom Brady (formerly known as Bill Belichick’s lapdog) and Aaron Rodgers (a baaaad man).

From the beginning of the season it was destined to be Mahomes in the AFC Championship, we all saw it coming. However, Allen has been the surprise of the year by completing 70 percent of his passes and leading the Bills to an AFC East division championship. Thanks to his new WR1, Stefon Diggs, the Bills have looked legit all season.

Mahomes vs Allen would be the matchup of the year.... Or will it be Henne vs Allen?

Patrick Mahomes took a brutal hit against the Browns last weekend and was ruled out for the game. He was suspected to have a concussion and left the reins of the QB position to Chad Henne. Conveniently, we have yet to hear any concrete information on Mahomes’ status and whether or not Andy Reid and crew are prepared to roll with Henne.

This is all a ploy. Why wouldn’t Mahomes play? I’m no doctor, believe me, but I’ve seen players get right back up their feet from far less than that. Then again, what do I know?

On Jan 19, Adam Schefter tweeted:

The media has been transfixed on Mahomes and whether he’ll be able to play because they can’t get enough of him. However, we don’t see the media saying anything about Buffalo and how they are faring right now. It’s Mahomes this, Mahomes that. Buffalo is getting overlooked and it’s a shame because they are a really, really good team.

Don’t get me started on this horrendous Colin Cowherd take:

Are you kidding me? I guarantee if this was the reverse situation with Allen sitting out, no one would bat an eye. I assume the NFL knows better than to do such a thing, but seriously, what kind of shit is that?

Personally, I wouldn’t be too shocked if Andy Reid sat Mahomes. Concussions are a bitch and you don’t want to risk the long term health of your star QB, especially the face of your franchise. Andy is certainly the type of coach to keep you on your toes, but I think Sean McDermott’s boys will be ready for anything.

Prediction: Mahomes will play no matter what to satisfy the NFL’s thirst for ratings.

I’m not making a prediction on the score because, as a Bills fan myself, I do believe in curses. The chances of squeezing a score out of me is fairly low but it’s safe to say I want to see a good game. You’d have to be an idiot to bet the under on this game.

Plain and simple: I’m a Bills fan so of course I’m slightly nervous. Or at least that’s the PG version of how I really feel.

Mahomes versus Allen? I can’t guarantee anything, but we’ll see the end result Sunday.
