Ex-Mets GM Jared Porter Should Have Taken an Art History Class

The New York Mets fired newly hired General Manager Jared Porter on Monday after it was discovered he sent unsolicited explicit photos to a female reporter, according to ESPN’s Mina Kimes and Jeff Passan. In other words, Porter sent dick pics to a woman without her asking for them.
To make matters worse, the woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, claimed that Porter had sent more than 60 text messages that she originally ignored until he finally sent a picture of his erect junk. What kind of idiot thinks, “well, she hasn’t responded to me, I think I know what she wants to see.” Are you kidding me?
There’s a reason why no one calls dick pics a form of art. Maybe if Porter brushed up on his art history he would have realized that the statue of David isn’t erect because no one wants to see that shit.
Here is the official statement from Mets owner Steven Cohen:
I have to congratulate the Mets on making the right decision by firing porter. Anyone who engages in that type of behavior towards women has probably made a habit of this. Who knows how many unwarranted dick pics this sick bastard has sent out into the world. This guy would have made the Met’s organization a nightmare for women to work in.
However, the fact that he was hired makes me speculate how much the Met’s knew about his character and hired him anyway. The events occurred in 2016, when Porter was the director of professional scouting for the Cubs. ESPN even knew about the incident in December 2017, but decided not to break the story after the woman involved asked it to not be.
Really makes you think just how much due diligence the Mets did on their GM prospects. I mean you would think they would want to know as much as they could about someone that would be directly linked to the success of the organization... right?
Again, if Porter was just a little bit more educated on the arts, or a decent human being, he would have had the common sense to not share images of his genitalia. And Jared, if she hasn’t responded to 60 of your previous text messages, news flash -- I don’t think she wants to see your dick bro.
