Odell acts like a spoiled child again, what's new?

First of all, Odell Beckham Jr. definitely makes the Los Angeles Rams a better team. How could he not? At one point while Odell played for the Giants he was regarded as one of the NFL’s top talents. It’s sad to see his talent wasted through his injury-ridden and inefficient years with Cleveland. Despite the talent, it’s hard to ignore Odell’s love for being an absolutely toxic human, and recent events are just another example

We don’t get to see and hear everything that goes on in an NFL locker room, but one thing is for sure. The Browns couldn’t get him out of there faster. His departure from New York had similar events surrounding it; Odell criticized his quarterback and acted out in distracting ways (like fighting a kicking net), giving the organization only one choice, to let him go.

Normal human beings look down on those who are toxic in order to get their way. It’s childish and typically something most people don’t want to deal with. Odell’s camp announced that he was prepared to cause issues if he went to a non-contender through waivers. On its face the thought process is fair. Who wouldn’t want a chance to win a Super Bowl? The way he went about sharing his thoughts though is childish. He basically made an announcement that he would pout if a bad team picked him up. Despite the blatant issues with this, his strategy worked. It him through the waivers process and landed him on perhaps the most talented contender in the league.

Toxicity and childishness aside, Odell to the Rams makes an elite offense that much scarier even if he doesn’t produce as if he was still in his prime. Cooper Kupp will remain the Rams WR1, but Odell is still a freakish athlete that would be an upgrade for the majority of wide receiver rooms across the NFL. The Rams were a serious contender before adding Von Miller and Odell, now you’d be hard-pressed to find a team with as much star power. I would be very surprised if the Cardinals are able to hold off the Rams for the divisional title, but either way the best division in football just got a lot more interesting.
