No Wonder Why Deshaun Watson Wants to Get The Hell Out of Dodge
Just like any other Houston superstar, Deshaun Watson wants to get the hell out of H-town, and with good reason. After the franchise quarterback was told he would be a part of the coaching and GM search by Texans ownership, the Texans promptly hired a GM without his consultation.
For Watson, this appears to be his breaking point, and I can’t say I blame him. The organization has traded his favorite target, DeAndre Hopkins, because he had beef with Bill O’ Brien for being god awful at his job. Only to receive an ageing, washed up running back in return that was only good for half a season his rookie year, nor did the Texans receive a first round pick in the trade.
The Texans then went on to win only four (!) games this year despite winning a playoff game last year and Watson’s incredible play at his position. Oh, not to forget, Houston’s owner is definitely a bigot. Seriously though, how do people just forget Bob McNair’s inmates running the prison comments?
Speaking of ownership, they have turned to Jack Easterby to be the savior of their organization. The same man who, according to Sports Illustrated, has reportedly curated, “a culture of distrust among staff and players,” and convinced the McNair family to pray for a new GM.
Yes, he literally got the Texans owners to pray for him to have the strength to hire a new GM. In other words, he duped them into hiring whoever he wanted because it would be God’s decision. Joel Osteen would be proud.
Even former Texans receiver Andre Johnson took to Twitter to openly blast the Texans and Easterby’s role in the organization’s recent antics:
To top it all off, the Texans are seen as a complete shit show by the rest of the league. Watson’s preferred HC choice Eric Bienimy reportedly wants nothing to do with Texans and preferred the Jets as a landing spot before it was taken by Robert Saleh.
You know you’re team is in deep shit when coaches prefer the fucking Jets over you. That’s embarrassing.
After all this, I can’t say I blame Watson for wanting to get the hell out of Dodge, and as someone who wants to see him succeed, I hope he gets his wish.
