Big Ben Is Going On A Diet?
News broke out on Tuesday that Ben Rothelisberger has been determined to lose weight this offseason with a new diet that is somehow even more rigid than Tom Brady’s infamous TB12 diet. I wouldn’t say it’s too far of a reach for Ben to be eating healthier considering my buttered ass cheeks would be a better option than what he has been eating for most of his career.
I actually laughed out loud when I first read the line “stricter than Brady’s” because one, no it's not, and two; the fact that Big Ben actually thinks having a stricter diet than Brady is going to turn his career trajectory around at age 39 is hilarious.
Brady changed his diet all the way back in 2004, when he was just 27. It’s hard to say how long he has been on the crazy strict diet known as TB12, but he founded TB12 sports in 2013 with the diet and cookbook as a large part of the brand. All in all he has probably been on this diet for around a decade now.
Big Ben - you big dumb idiot - that’s just not how nutrition works. You can’t just eat like shit for 38 years and then at 39 magically decide “Yeah I’m eating better than Brady, watch out NFL.” No! Brady has eaten right for years as a way to prevent injuries and a career downslope. Your downslope is already underway, Ben.
Last year Rothelisberger was 31st in yards per attempt, 22nd in QBR, 16th in yards, got embarrassed by the Browns defense (and not because they were good), and on top of that is going to have a swiss cheese O-line next year.
I hate to say it, but no amount of fruits and vegetables can fix Big Ben’s game with the way it looked at the end of last year.
