What Week One’s Marquee Matchups Will Tell Us
Week zero is past and gone, now we’re going to the big dogs on the screen this weekend. The week one’s slate of games is impressive, here’s what we’re going to learn from the biggest games.
Georgia Isn’t going anywhere
Georgia has a national title, and may have the biggest chip on their shoulder this season. No one is picking them to repeat, and are giving Bama all the love. Expect Georgia to come out hot and dominate Oregon.

Buckeyes are Natty or Bust
Ryan Day has yet to win a national title at Ohio State, is this the year he does it? I say it's his best chance yet. He’s getting back Heisman favorite CJ Stroud and stud WR Jaxon Smith-N’Jigba. Notre Dame on the other hand lost Brian Kelly to LSU and is in a transitioning period with new coach Marcus Freeman. Expect another blowout in this one with Ohio State running away against a top 5 opponent.
Florida is ready to compete
New head coach Billy Napier is going to prove his worth in the opener with a stunning opener against Pac-12 champ Utah. 70 percent of the public bets are on Utah, but I believe Florida and their longshot Heisman candidate Anthony Richardson can get the job done.
Cincy CFP hangover is going to be a rough one
Scheduling Arkansas in Fayetteville probably sounded like a good idea at the time, but that was before Ark turned into a decent football team. Now they face a daunting opponent after losing their best players in Desmond Ridder and Sauce Gardner. Luke Fickell is an amazing head coach, but he doesn’t stand a chance in this one.
