My Top 10 Favorite Reverse Retro Jerseys (all photos taken from NHL.com)

1. New York Rangers

This one is my favorite because it is simple yet effective. I love the color contrast between the navy and the red and then the statue of liberty in white stands out so well. I like the sleeves as well how the stripes tie into the red and white on the front.

2. Washington Capitals

Washington has a similar color scheme to the Rangers, but what I like the most about theirs is the eagle and the Capitals name on the bottom. I like how the eagle is slanted, so it looks like they made the name slanted as well. I think the font also goes really well with the overall design.

3. Columbus Blue Jackets

Again, similar colors going on, but I really like the CB with the star and hockey stick logo they got on their jersey. My only complaint would be that I wish there was a cannon on the front, but it is interesting to look at and kind of reminded me of the Atlanta Thrashers logo.

4. Anaheim Ducks

This one is total nostalgia for me. I love the color scheme and the mascot. It just represents retro in the best way. I don’t think I have ever seen that font on a jersey before, but I really liked it.

5. Arizona Coyotes

Growing up, we had a mug with this logo on it, so that is one of the reasons this jersey made it on my list. Besides that, I do really like that logo and the color scheme. I thought the cactus and desert scene at the bottom was a good additional as well.

6. Vegas Golden Knights

I feel like people either love or hate the Vegas Golden Knights third jersey, but I don’t hate it. Their jersey reminds me of medieval times, which honestly fits their style. I think it works well.

7. Calgary Flames

At first, I honestly was like “who’s jersey is that” because it is so different than their primary logo. Different yes, bad I don’t think so. I think the black background made the horse head (I think that’s what it is) stand out, and they continued to use their colors, so it tied it altogether.

8. Carolina Hurricanes

Everyone saw this jersey coming. The Canes have to play tribute to the Whalers, it is just the right thing to do. I like these jerseys and they kind of remind me of the Canucks jerseys. That is probably just due to the colors. I wonder if it is confusing to play against them in these jerseys because their colors are not even close to the Canes’ actual brand colors.

9. Pittsburgh Penguins

The crossbody, diagonal letters are always a classic look. I think the thing I appreciate most about these jerseys is that the yellow isn’t obnoxious. I feel like they could have gone overboard on the yellow, but proud of them that they didn’t.

10. Chicago Blackhawks

I am biased on this one, but I have always liked this style of jersey. It brings me back to the Original Six days and all of the Winter Classics the Hawks have played in over the years. I do wish that when they create new jerseys that they switch it up because our third jerseys have been like this for a while now.
