The 2020-21 NHL season is over. The Tampa Bay Lightning are your back-to-back Stanley Cup Champs. Props to Montreal for making it the finals. NHL’s time on NBC is also over, the end of an era as some would say.

After a 52-game regular season sprint, The Lightning have played the most hockey out of any other NHL team this year. Happy for them, I guess. Honestly, to me, underwhelming. As much as I hoped for Montreal to put up more of a fight, I just didn’t feel as though there was any real competition. The Stanley Cup being awarded in five games is disappointing.

What is impressive about the whole thing is that Pat Maroon has won the Cup three years in a row! He was on St. Louis in 2019 and then Tampa Bay 2020 and 2021. On the other hand, it’s sad boy hour for Carey Price as he fought his way to the final. Even though it was a tough series loss, I think that this playoff run can give Montreal some momentum going into next season.

Looking forward, we have the expansion draft coming up and the NHL draft. With big trade rumors circling, you know we will be following it all summer.

Congratulations Tampa Bay on another victory.
