Preusser’s NHL Rundown: Sidney Crosby Reaches Another Milestone

The beloved Sidney Crosby has done it. He has scored 500 goals. This milestone came in the first period against the in-state rival Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday and made Crosby only the second active player to score that many (behind Ovechkin, of course).

The best part about this, in my opinion, is that he scored it at home, in front of thousands of Penguins fans and in front of his family. I can’t imagine a better time and place to do so! Everyone on the team knew that it was going to happen, and they made it happen.

If you know me, I am not the biggest Sidney Crosby or Penguins fan, but I can’t not root for such a remarkable milestone like this one. So with that being said, Congrats, Sid!

Aside from Crosby, the team as a whole has been doing great this season. At the time of writing, the team sits first in the Eastern Division with 70 points. The Penguins have consistently been known as a solid team, but they are S.O.L.I.D. this year, no doubt about it.

We will see if anything stirs up from the trade deadline on March 21, but there is nothing that should, as of now, stop this team from making the playoffs and doing well. It sort of pains me to say it, but hey, the Penguins are good.
