While most of American sports fans' eyes have been focused on Super Bowl 55, there has been some offseason madness going down in the MLB. With less than a month until spring training, teams around the league have been trying to find the missing puzzle pieces to their pennant-chasing squad. There are still some big-name trades yet to come to fruition, but here is a rundown on some of the most important MLB offseason moves as of now:

Where do we begin? Bauer to Dodgers?

The big story is definitely “Bauer Outage” becoming a scum Dodger.

  • Probably the biggest free agent on the market and he signs with the defending champs. I was shocked to hear this news because I didn't think the Dodgers could get better, yet somehow they did. Bauer, the 2020 NL Cy Young winner, definitely bolsters the Dodgers rotation; the defending champs now have three no. 1 pitchers. I don’t necessarily agree with the $40 million price tag, but the Dodgers got a good one nonetheless.

Yadi is back to St. Louis for his umptheeth year.

  • Where do we begin with Mr. Yadier Monlia? The St. Louis Cardinals catcher re-signed with the team for a 1 year deal. The catcher position is the most physically demanding on the field, so it’s amazing Monila, 38, has played for this long. I’m convinced he re-signed thanks to the Cardinals acquiring Nolan Arenado, then again, who wouldn’t want to play for a Word Series caliber team.

Marcell Ozuna is back as a Brave.

  • The Braves re-signed their slugging left fielder to a 4-year, $64 million contract. It’s possible that the Braves are trying to recapture their 90s magic with all this talent they’re bringing in, but I’m a believer.

Shohei Ohtani is going to be an Angel for the next 2 years and $8.5 million richer.

  • The Japanese Babe Ruth is back and looks like he’ll finally be the missing piece. He should be fully healed from his Tommy John surgery and ready to throw those dangerous curveballs. The Angels also signed Anthony Rendon, a powerful hitter from the Nationals, to a massive 7 year contract. That’s going to be fun to watch. Oh yeah, not to forget, the Angels have the best player in the game: Mike Trout. I still don’t think they win 90 games.

In my opinion, the biggest trade this offseason was between the Texas Rangers and the Oakland Athletics.

  • Elvis Andrus has been traded to the Oakland A’s for Khris Davis (the Home Run hitting one) and I can’t be in any more pain. Elvis was the staple of the Rangers for the past decade. He was on the 2010 and 2011 World Series runs and I watched him grow into a great ballplayer. Andrus made Rangers games some of the most entertaining to watch.

  • This is the big marquee free agent we get for the brand new opening of the new Texas Rangers stadium? They don’t try and get Bauer, Jackie Bradley Jr or anyone else? Seems odd to me.
