LeBron James Is A Phenomenal Actor
LeBron James is widely regarded as the best basketball player on the planet, and this is a fact. Lately though, the modern-era GOAT has been making headlines for his acting talent rather than his athleticism or ability to make big plays.
If you’re a long time NBA fan, you’re probably aware by now that LeBron has a sensitive side when it comes to his on-court injuries and has a keen sense to “overcome adversity” at all costs. Don’t get me wrong, the “kid from Akron” has overcome an abundance of adversity in his life, but I wouldn’t consider “seeing three rims” to hit a last-second shot life altering.
Again, I’m trying my hardest not to bash LeBron here, but I mean… come on, this is ridiculous. LeBron is a man of many talents, but recently he has developed an acute ability to pull an attention grabbing narrative right out of his ass.
The Lakers are playing on prime-time TV, millions of fans watching an old rivalry consisting of Steph Curry and LeBron, and conveniently LeBron was essentially blind when he launched a 45-foot three point shot.
OF COURSE people in the media would be talking about this and how great of a shot it was and everything and how LeBron played through the injury, which may be true, but was incredibly overhyped. There are endless stories the mainstream media companies such as ESPN could thrive off of based on LeBron’s post-game interview alone. Hell, he’s got me writing about him, he knows what he’s doing.
The theatrical antics didn’t stop there. After the Lakers earned a spot in the playoff bracket as the 7-seed, they had to face the Phoenix Suns just a few days later.
As one would expect, LeBron’s eye was perfectly fine with no question or concerns leading up to tip-off. Crazy how that works. Anyways, towards to start of the fourth quarter LeBron had an awkward landing on his shoulder after a free throw, and the rest, well the rest went like this:
Sure, it’s an awkward landing and I totally understand being a bit shaken up on the play. What I don’t understand is literally sitting up, looking over to notice that all the attention is on a fight happening near the sideline, then proceeding to wobble over to where everyone is looking and sit down wallowing in pain.
I just want to reiterate that in no way shape fashion or form am I intending to bash LeBron, but these theatrics need to stop, just play the damn game and hit clutch shots as always.
