Jon Gruden Hillary Clinton'd Himself Out of a Job

Adam Schefter dropped a BOMB on Monday Night Football, reporting that Raiders Head Coach Jon Grude is resigning after offensive emails from 2011 have been leaked.
The emails were first reported last Friday by the New York times, where Gruden remarked that NFLPA President Demaurice Smith had lips as big as Michelin tires. Gruden said that the remark was referring to Smith’s character and lying actions, saying that rubber lips is a term for someone who is a liar.
Mike Tirico and Tony Dungy, two men of color who know Gruden personally, supported him and backed up his explanation of his comments referring to a liar and not being a racist trope.
If that wasn’t enough controversy, Jon Gruden got full on Hillary Clinton’d and more emails from the same time period leaked, where he called Roger Goodell a “fa***” and a “clueless antifootball pussy.”
I’m as sick of cancel culture as much as the next person, but if you’re calling people the f-word and making fun of the size of a black man’s lips you gotta go. This is 2021 and we have no place in the world for people who make comments like that to be in positions of power.
I was ready to believe Gruden about his explanation of the Michelin comments, but after more offensive emails surfaced I’m less inclined to do so. One good thing I can say about Gruden is at least he has the common decency to recognize his mistakes and resign unlike another NFL head coach *cough* URBAN MEYER *cough*.
The Raiders have named special teams coach Rich Bisaccia as the interim head coach moving forward.
